St Paul's Annual Service Posted: 28/02/24

This links very closely with our Academy ethos of kindness, justice and humility

On Thursday 1 February, a selection of students from both the Primary and Secondary phase had the wonderful opportunity to attend the London Diocesan Board for Schools annual service at St Paul’s Cathedral.

Once we arrived at the Cathedral and admired the beautiful architecture, we enjoyed some music from a Brass Ensemble and combined choir before the service started. At the beginning of the service, many schools in the Diocese participated in the procession and had created flags to represent their school. The theme of the service was Agents of Reconciliation and focussed on celebrating diversity between us, as well as showing kindness to others. Inside of the Cathedral, an intricate globe was created to reinforce this theme and we also heard from Krish Kandiah, the author of Whistlestop Tales, who stated that ‘the things that make us different can actually be the things that help make the world a better place’.

This links very closely with our Academy ethos of kindness, justice and humility, as it encourages us to celebrate each other’s unique identities and view these differences as a positive.
