With the Prime Minister barely out the gate, we received a called from the Bishop of London’s office asking us to host the announcement of the new Bishop of Edmonton on Wednesday 20 December.

In a beautiful service featuring both primary and secondary choirs, Bishop Sara led us in prayer and announced Revd Canon Dr Anderson Jeremiah as the new Bishop of Edmonton.

Earlier this term, a small group of sixth formers at Wren Academy had been selected as part of the appointment process, viewing videos of the candidates and providing their feedback to the appointment panel.  During the service, they were able to ask Anderson about his mission and hopes for the future.  He joked that they asked him more challenging questions that the appointment panel but answered every one fully, with humility and knowledge of the challenges young people face.

We continue to pray for Anderson as he begins his new role and very much hope that we visits us again in the future.
