It was a wonderful opportunity for the students to experience the famous characters in a different way

On Friday 14 October, the group of Year 10 students who took part in the English Faculty’s production of Romeo & Juliet: Play in the Ground, had the opportunity to attend a production of & Juliet in the West End.  This was a reward for the hard work put in and commitment shown by all the students involved, both onstage and backstage.

It was a wonderful opportunity for the students to experience the famous characters in a different way, with some hit singles written by the prolific songwriter Max Martin thrown in, such as Britney’s "…Baby One More Time”, the Backstreet Boys’ "I Want It That Way” and Katy Perry’s "Roar”.

It is a fantastic show which was enjoyed by all, as you can tell from a couple of our students reports below:

The experience is one I will never forget! Everything about the & Juliet musical was amazing. If I could, I would rewatch it. Oti C, 11 Holborn

& Juliet is the most stunning, dazzling and perfectly witty comedy I have seen. It was made even better by being a live performance with a truly enticing atmosphere. Everyone was buzzing and our brilliant staff made the day perfect for all of us. Going to the theatre with friends really made the trip. I really enjoyed the 80s-90s soundtrack that we all sang along to and it put a traditional story in a fabulous new light in a way that is relevant to the modern world and our generation. Thank you for such a magical day out. Pia E, 11 Piccadilly
