Duke of Edinburgh Expeditio Posted: 5/07/21

137 students from Year 10 set out to navigate their way around the countryside on their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze expedition.

Following many months of training, planning and preparation, 137 students from Year 10 set out to navigate their way around the countryside on their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze expedition. Groups were supported by staff members, who ensured that they set off properly equipped and ready for the challenge.

Each group walked a total of 20km carrying all of their kit over the course of three days in Activities Week; spirits remained high despite some rain on each day. All groups demonstrated great determination, supporting each other and working together to achieve the expedition section. This, combined with their successes at volunteering, physical activity and developing skills, means that they have successfully achieved their Bronze Award.

Over the course of the three days, I would just like to say that the students conducted themselves in an excellent manner and had a positive attitude towards the expedition. I hope these students continue to participate in the Award and complete the Silver and Gold levels.

Below are some photos of the three days but if you would like to see more photos, please visit our Image Gallery on our website
