Best Ever GCSE Results

The Wren Academy community is celebrating an outstanding set of GCSE results, the best since the school opened. This is an impressive achievement given that students were sitting reformed GCSEs in most subjects this year which have been designed to be more rigorous than the previous qualifications.

Some of the most noteworthy achievements include:

  • 24% of all grades awarded under the new 9-1 grading system were awarded at the top levels of 9-8 (equivalent to A*)
  • 76% of all results achieved were awarded at 9-6 (equivalent to A*-B)
  • An Attainment 8 score of 61.86
  • A provisional Progress 8 score of +0.96 (top 1% in the country)

All of these outcomes are the best ever achieved since Wren Academy’s first set of GCSE results in 2013.

We are proud of all our students who made fantastic progress and achieved their potential. However, special mention needs to be made of Bhavana Daryana who achieved straight 9s (top A* equivalent), an accomplishment which can only be matched by a few hundred students across the country.

Other excellent results include:

Neha Thakkar - Seven 9s and two 8s

Jojo Ward - Six 9s and three 8s

Mari Nozaki - Six 9s, two 8s and an A*

Shifa Zaman - Five 9s and four 8s

Sylvie Hallam - Five 9s and three 8s

Jessie McClymont - Five 9s and two 8s

Bakhtiar Mohammadzadeh - Five 9s and one 8

This year’s set of results are a remarkable achievement and are a testament to both the talent of the students and the hard work that they have put in over the course of the previous two years.
