We are very proud of all our students who have received their GCSE results this summer. They have been a fantastic group of young people who have worked very hard to reach their full potential.

We are very proud of all our students who have received their GCSE results this summer. They have been a fantastic group of young people who have worked very hard to reach their full potential.

Despite significant uncertainty over the changes in GCSE grades and the introduction of more challenging examinations our students have risen to the challenge and attained excellent results. The progress of Wren students is again very impressive with a provisional Progress 8 score of +0.95. This statistic takes into account every one of our students whatever their results, and therefore gives a clear indication of the overall progress the year group have made since joining the school in Year 7.

Our students have achieved high results overall with an Attainment 8 score of 58.94 . Part of the reason that this figure is so high is the 47 Grade 9s awarded to Wren students in English and Mathematics. There have also been the usual high number of A*s achieved in the other subjects. Many students could be congratulated for their success but special mention needs to be made of Zinnia, Dominic and Madeleine who have achieved the highest possible results of 3 Grade 9s and 7 A*s.

84% of all students achieved 5A*-C including Maths and English. Such a positive outcome can only be achieved by a range of subject areas producing very good results. Again there are many successes but one which stands out and needs to be celebrated is that 52% of all students achieved a Grade 7 (equivalent to Grade A) or higher in Mathematics. This a remarkable result for a school with the full ability range of students.

The whole academy community will now be celebrating the successes of our GCSE students as well as wishing them the very best in the next stage of their education.
