Ski Trip to Sunday River, Maine USA

Over the Easter break a combination of Year 10 and Year 12 students took an adventure into the heart of skiing at Sunday River, Maine.

Excitedly we embarked onto the Virgin Atlantic flight to Boston, USA, where our fabulous adventure began.  Driving through the night into early morning our coach battled all weather conditions to get us safely to our hotel.  Once we reached our accommodation we were all tired and went straight to sleep ready for the challenges we faced the next morning.

After a little bit of a lie in and breakfast we collected our ski gear and boarded an old school bus with a 2-minute journey to a cluster of mountains, which would be our beautiful backdrop for the rest of the holiday.  Once on the slopes we were split up into groups based on our skiing ability and it did not take long for us all to find our ski legs, after a few harmless wipe-outs!

Everybody came on in leaps and bounds, even the least experienced skiers were going down diamond runs nearer the end of the trip.  However, the days passed far too quickly along with the added entertainment in the evenings, including bowling and a snowball fight with the teachers but sadly it had to come to an end.

On the way back we visited a shopping outlet where we could spend loads of dollars and also had a great day exploring Boston before our flight home.

Thank you to all the teachers involved, we all loved it!
