Reading Project December 2016 Posted: 30/01/17

For December 2016 the Schools Reading Project was Around the World in Eighty Days by Michael Todd.

The first 20 students to complete a book review were treated to an exclusive viewing of the film during Enrichment this week.

See below a few reviews from some of our students. More will be available to view in our February newsletter.

This story is really gripping because the unexpected happens! I was really shocked at the ending because it was smart and well thought out. I had no idea what would happen and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys adventure and twist in a book.   Daniel Park  8 S/JLE

The book is filled with suspense as [Phileas Fogg and his servant} are pursued by the arrogant detective Fix, who is certain that Fogg has committed a terrible crime. There were so many near misses with him that I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.  Angelina Sparksman 8 S/JLE

My favourite bit is when they were rescuing the lady who was going to be killed with the help of an elephant. It has made me want to read more. If anyone likes adventure, drama and a bit of suspense, this is the book for you. I would definitely give this book to another person because it is so good. Matthew Sheldon 7 H/KSM

I like this book because it is full of twists and adventure and you never know what will happen on the next page. My favourite character is Phileas Fogg because although he seems like a cold person, at the end his warm heart is revealed. Miller Fox Baron 7 S/JHY
